More explosive legislation!
Har! Actually (via Waldo) Del. Jack Reid accidentally shot off the handgun he regularly carries into the legislative sessions. Amazing? I’m all for the ol’ amendment numero duece, but stuff like this makes me think perhaps concealed weapons permits are kind of insane. Also last time I walked into the capitol building I was confronted by a metal detector on the right side of the hallway and a wide open space on the left side. Being in possession of my purse bag — which contains various tools and implements — and seeing no officer of the law about, I chose to walk through the wide open space on the left. So security is pretty good I’d say.
Anywayz no one was hurt thankfully. You can bet CNN will pick this up as another front page story though: “In Richmond, former Confederate stronghold, a local lawmaker almost kills a truck full of babies.”
for the record, i’m fine with concealed weapons, although not in courtrooms/legislative session/other gov’t facilities…. except during times of civil war of course. long live firearms!!! even fully automatic ones!!! argh!!

my friend works at the game department and, i suppose, because he works for the state he’s never been through a metal detector in any state building. He even met the governor with a concealed weapon on him! I think that’s crazy.
