RUMOR: Kaine PWNz
NBC12 is reporting that Tim Kaine (D) will govern Virginia starting in January.
How Democrats get elected in Virginia I will never know. Oh wait maybe the Republicans should field a decent candidate? Anyway, at this time the other two big races are two close to call. “Liberal Leslie Byrne” trails Bill Bolling, and Bob “I can’t remember if I ever had a BJ” McDonnell leads Creigh Deeds. But seriously that could change by morning.
call me stupid, but i’m not that into these elections. i might regret it later, but i don’t care very much who wins right now. i’m not sure why; i think i’m just glad the ads are over? i am pretty nervous about kaine being uber-crappy i guess, but then i didn’t think kilgore was awesome either, so… maybe i didn’t get into it bc there was noone that was really awesome to get behind. i don’t know.

i’m not sure that kilgore sucked, he just got some bad campaign advice that going 100% negative would be ok.

I mean that isn’t why I didn’t vote for him. I thought his views sending all tax increases to a refferendum were pretty shitty.

Because dude, you can’t trust The People to vote for a tax increase when it is necessary. I am all in favor of our representative democracy (republic) over a true democracy. Seriously.

i heard a dumb quote by howard dean today. he said, “the results of the election are an indication that voters want a change in direction for the country.”
ummmm if anything, the election was an indication that the voters in VA voted to maintain the status quo. i mean they voted the same parties into the same slots as before (except lt gov, but his only job is to run for gov next time around). right?
i understand wanting to SPIN crap, and if kilgore won, i’m sure we’d see the same SPIN only reversed, but i’m kind of like “virginia does whatever it wants to, eat a dick, yankees!”

hey i voted for 3 out of 4 tax increases for spotsylvania county yesterday (schools, libraries, roads). i dont know if they passed or not though. tax and spend librul!
i agree with you though. referendum is another word for cop-out. it’s like voice votes; they know what they need to do, but they’re afraid of the political fallout, so they pass it off on someone else or hide in anonimity.

yeah and norfolk i bet.
although wikipedia said that kaine was pulling suprisingly strong numbers in rural areas. his biggest lead was actually in the shenendoah valley (+14). nova was +8 or something. dont know where those numbers came from though.
